This document is an important part of the process for preparing the Local Development Framework which will set out the final vision, objectives and spatial strategy for the District. The LDF will contain the necessary policies, including development control policies, and the proposals required to deliver these objectives. The responses to the issues and suggested ways forward set out in this document will be carefully analysed and considered by us, so that decisions can be made about the approach to be adopted towards the future planning of the District.
We hope that by having indicated the vision, in accordance with that agreed by the Horsham District Community Partnership, defined objectives, and articulated these through a summary of the potential strategy, we will have facilitated discussion and the opportunity for early comment by the community, stakeholders and other interests.
We will continue to explore the issues and the possible proposals through further studies, and we shall produce an initial Sustainability Appraisal report. We are happy for everyone concerned to bring forward alternative proposals for our consideration, as long as they meet the defined objectives and are compatible with national, regional and Structure Plan policy guidance or proposals.
The background studies or documents listed in Appendix 1 set out more information on elements of the 'evidence base' and should assist in helping respondents to build on the summary information in this document.
