Following the resolution of Cabinet on the 3 September 2009 the Rudgwick Parish Design Statement was formally adopted by the Council on the 18 September 2009. The Design Statement will now form part of the Council’s Local Development Framework as a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).
The document can be viewed below as well as the accompanying Consultation Statement that details the stages of public consultation the document went through before adoption, and an Adoption Statement notifying the public of the documents adoption.
The following Design Statements have already been adopted by the Council as SPDs:
Hard copies of the Henfield Parish Design Statement SPD and the Warnham Parish Design Statement SPD are available on request from the Henfield Parish Council Offices, Henfield Village Hall, High Street, Henfield (01273 492507) and from Gerry Benham the Warnham Parish Clerk (01903 245217) respectively. Hard copies of the Billingshurst Parish Design Statement are available by request from Beverley Bell (01403 782555).
The following parish and village design statements have been adopted under the previous Planning Act by Horsham District Council as supplementary planning guidance (SPG).
- Heath Common;
- Southwater;
- Partridge Green and Dial Post;
- Thakeham; and
- West Chiltington
After the revisions to the planning system, it was not possible to adopt any subsequent Design Statements as SPG or SPDs until the Core Strategy Development Plan Document was adopted by the Council. As a result the following documents were adopted as interim planning guidance in the meantime:
Now that the Core Strategy has been adopted (2007), all of the Design Statements that were produced before it’s adoption will be subject to review to enable their conversion from SPG or Interim Planning Guidance into SPDs. |
