LATEST NEWS: The Site Specific Allocations of Land (2007) document identifies areas of land for development. Policy AL12 identifies 6 hectares of land at Parsonage Farm/ St Peters Meadow, Henfield for residential development and informal open space. The proposals for the site are required to be comprehensive and integrated and a development brief is required to guide the appropriate design implementation of the scheme. To this end officers have been discussing the issues with developers and agents on their behalf and they have produced a Development Brief Consultation Draft which you are able to comment on. The document can be viewed at the Council Offices, and the local library. The Parish Council and Henfield Community Partnership also have copies of the document.

The Site Specific Allocations of Land document details the development proposals for new homes, employment land, community facilities, open space and other uses, both within existing towns and villages and in the more rural areas of the District.
The Site Specific Allocations of Land document was formally adopted by the Council on 2 November 2007.

The Submission Draft Site Specific Allocations of Land document was published on 4 November 2005.
Following publication there was a six week period of representation ending on 16 December. The representations made during that period on the content of the document were considered by an independent Inspector at an Examination in autumn/winter 2006. The Inspectors' Report of the Examination into the Site Specific Allocations of Land Development Plan Document was issued on 3 October 2007.
The representations made during the six-week period mentioned above may be viewed in full on this website. The Council has also made copies of the representations available at its offices in Horsham as well as at libraries and help points around the District.
The Local Development Framework also includes an adopted Proposals Map. The Site Specific Allocations of Land Document has been subject to an appraisal of the social, environmental and economic effects of its strategies and policies. This is known as the Sustainability Appraisal and Strategic Environmental Assessment and is available in two formats:
Statement of Compliance
The Council has prepared a Statement of Compliance (306kb) for Site Specific Allocations of Land document which details how the Council has complied with the Statement of Community Involvement or the minimum requirements of the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2004.
The Statement of Compliance details both what has been undertaken in terms of the planning regulations as well as what is outlined in the Statement of Community Involvement. The Statement of Community Involvement was formally adopted by the Council in February 2005.
